Titus Talks

QUESTION:
You have always been so candid about sharing your steroid cycles during you career. Why do you think most all Pro Bodybuilder are so hesitant to disclose information in the area of AAS use?

ANSWER:
This is an excellent question and one that’s very easily answered. First, AAS means Androgenic Anabolic Steroids. That said, there are several reasons why Pro Bodybuilders refuse to acknowledge or respond to questions in regard to their AAS practices.

I think the number one reason for their security, is the most obvious…it’s illegal!!! AAS is a schedule three drug that’s precisely why a C III is stamped on each and every steroid made in the USA. That’s right; AAS are scheduled right up there with most narcotics. I certainly don’t agree with it, but it is what it is. Many of us have been busted over the years using, selling or in some cases manufacturing AAS and fake HGH… but that’s a entirely different subject. I suspect athletes get nervous when asked questions about steroid mainly because of the legal ramifications that could ensue. Another reason for a Bodybuilders hesitation it to be transparent, is a reason I don’t entirely understand, they feel an admission and or decision as to what drugs he or she uses some how takes away the validity of their accomplishments. That somehow by admitting and affirming their AAS cycles with others, it devalues their bodybuilding achievements. Personally I’ve never felt that way. I have always expected the reality steroids and HGH are necessary and allowed myself to indulge significantly during my Bodybuilding career… fact is, no steroids use means not winning a national championship and most certainly equals no professional status. During my career, I always practiced transparency with regard to my AAS cycles. I have a great deal of respect for those Bodybuilders who are forthcoming and laugh hysterically at those who are not… funny as in clown! Lastly, most successful Pro’s avoid answering steroid questions simply because they don’t want to share their knowledge. Some wish to remain silent and never discuss the chemical warfare they’ve practiced feeling that their covertness sustains the winning edge. In fact, most if not all Pro’s who place in the top three consistently, will never reveal the steroid combinations used to achieve championship status… remaining very discreet.

Looking back, even while training with such Pro’s as Chris Comier, Paul Dillett and Mike Christian, I can’t remember one time we openly discussed our contest prep AAS cycles… not one. All of us training together but never divulging our winning edge to each other. Think about it… when’s the last time you read Shawn Ray’s steroid cycle or witnesses him discussing the use of performance enhancing drugs at a seminar? Name a Bodybuilder, chances are they never answered a steroid questioning a public forum or even in general. It cracks me up when Pro Bodybuilders act totally oblivious to one aspect of Bodybuilding that’s equally important as others… AAS use. But I must admit, it’s probably a wise decision for Mr. Olympia to remain mute in regard to AAS and HGH use. The fact of the matter is… if two athletes have similar genetics, both have exact training and nutrition schedule, the Bodybuilder with the highest quality anabolic with 100% certainty the steroids are real, will undoubtedly present a much better physique. In closing, when a fan asks a Pro Bodybuilder “what anabolic or combination of anabolic so you think you’ve responded to the best’? The last damn thing the fan wants to hear is ‘I’m uncomfortable with that question”!! Get comfortable you clown, you’re a Pro and steroids are all part of being one!!! One more thing… I bet Jay Cutler regrets the day he decided to help his buddy Phil Heath… how did that work out for ya? If you have a question in regarded to a specific steroid or AAS cycle in general, feel free to ask… I’ll keep it real!
